Swimming Carnival 2013

Swimming Carnival 2013

On Friday the 22nd of March a selected number of
students went with Mrs Walker to represent Elm Park at
the Inter-School swimming Carnival. It was held at Howick
Intermediate.
After the initial disappointment of the carnival being
postponed from the previous Tuesday to the Friday our
excitement rose when the races began. EP swimmers
participated in the freestyle, backstroke and breaststroke
in both 25 metre and in 50 metre categories. Everyone
had to win their heat to be in the final. Like Mrs Walker,
our coach, said, “Our main objective is to have fun and if
we win it’s a bonus”. At the end of the day we came away
with lots of wins in our heats.
Anahita Mistry was our star swimmer with a win in the
50m freestyle and 25m breastroke. We also achieved a
number of 2nds and 3rds in all age groups.

A big thank you to all the parents who helped on the day!
